KOMBAT GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIPS CONFIRMS CAMBODIA'S READINESS AS THE GLOBAL HUB OF KOMBAT

KOMBAT GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIPS CONFIRMS CAMBODIA'S READINESS AS THE GLOBAL HUB OF KOMBAT

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – July 2, 2026 — The successful completion of the Kombat Grand Prix Championships Test Event on June 27, 2026, marks the beginning of a new era for international combat sports as Kombat Global Corporation officially launches its long-term vision of establishing Phnom Penh, Cambodia, as the global hub of its worldwide operations.

Held at RCAF Stadium in Phnom Penh, the historic event attracted approximately 1,500 spectators and featured athletes representing 11 countries. Proudly supported by Official Sponsor Ganzberg Beer and broadcast live on Bayon TV, the championship card featured eight professional bouts—four Kombat Taekwondo contests and four Kombat Kun Khmer contests—bringing two dynamic combat sports together on one international stage.

More than a championship event, June 27 served as a comprehensive Test Event for Kombat Global. Every aspect of the event was evaluated, including venue operations, television production, broadcast quality, athlete services, transportation, accommodations, logistics, event management, security, medical operations, and the overall experience for international athletes, coaches, officials, media, and fans.

The initiative began in January 2026, when Rick W. Shin, President of Kombat Global Corporation, held his first strategic meeting with Major General Khov Chhay, President of the Kun Khmer Federation (KKF). Since that initial meeting, both organizations conducted numerous planning sessions, venue inspections, production meetings, and operational reviews to determine whether Cambodia could become the permanent international home of Kombat Championships.

Prior to the event, some members of Kombat's international community expressed concerns about hosting a major sporting event in Cambodia due to misconceptions and negative international perceptions. Questions were raised regarding infrastructure, logistics, regional security, and Cambodia's ability to host a world-class international sporting event.

The championships provided a clear answer.

The successful execution of the event demonstrated that Cambodia possesses the facilities, infrastructure, organizational capability, and hospitality necessary to host international combat sports at the highest level. Feedback from athletes, coaches, referees, broadcasters, and international delegates was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the professionalism of the organization, the quality of the venue, the efficiency of local logistics, the outstanding television production, and the warm hospitality shown throughout their stay.

The event was broadcast live nationwide on Bayon TV, introducing the Kombat Grand Prix Championships to Cambodian audiences while showcasing Cambodia to viewers through Kombat's growing international media platform.

Following the success of the Test Event, Kombat Global Corporation has officially selected Phnom Penh, Cambodia, as the global hub for its worldwide operations and future international championships. The organization will use Cambodia as its principal base for the continued growth of the Kombat platform, bringing athletes, coaches, officials, media, and fans from around the world to the Kingdom.

Cambodia was selected not only for its proven operational capabilities, but also for its rich martial arts heritage, strategic location in Southeast Asia, strong institutional support, passionate fans, and the historic legacy of Kun Khmer. These qualities make Phnom Penh the ideal location from which Kombat will continue expanding its worldwide platform.

The initiative is expected to increase international tourism, global media exposure, business investment, and economic opportunities while further positioning Cambodia as one of Asia's premier destinations for combat sports.

A central part of Kombat's long-term vision is its partnership with the Kun Khmer Federation to preserve, promote, and elevate Kun Khmer through the Kombat Championships platform.

"This was never simply about hosting one successful event," said Rick W. Shin, President of Kombat Global Corporation. "It was about proving that Cambodia is ready to welcome the world. We came here to test every aspect of our operation—from production and logistics to athlete experience and international broadcasting—and Cambodia didn't just meet our expectations—it set a new standard for what an international host nation can deliver."

"Kombat has made a long-term commitment to Cambodia. Phnom Penh is now the global hub of our worldwide operations, and from here we will continue building an international platform that brings the world to Cambodia."

"Kun Khmer is the Father of Muay Thai. We believe the world deserves to know its history, respect its origins, and experience its future. Through our partnership with the Kun Khmer Federation, Kombat will proudly use its international championships, global television broadcasts, and worldwide events to introduce Kun Khmer to new audiences around the world while preserving Cambodia's remarkable martial arts heritage for future generations."

The event also marked the historic global debut of Kombat Kun Khmer, introducing Cambodia's national martial art to new international audiences through the Kombat Championships platform while celebrating one of the world's oldest martial arts traditions.

Kombat Global extends its sincere appreciation to the Kun Khmer Federation, Official Sponsor Ganzberg Beer, Bayon TV, the organizing committee, production teams, government authorities, volunteers, and all partners whose dedication, professionalism, and collaboration made the championships possible. Their collective commitment was instrumental in delivering a successful international event and demonstrating Cambodia's capability to host world-class combat sports.

The June 27 Test Event was the first step in a multi-year strategy that will bring recurring Grand Prix Championships, World Title events, coaching education, athlete development programs, youth initiatives, and international combat sports festivals to Cambodia.

With Phnom Penh now serving as the global hub of Kombat, the organization is committed to bringing the world's best athletes, coaches, officials, media, and fans to Cambodia while showcasing the Kingdom's culture, hospitality, and martial arts traditions on the international stage.

"This is no longer about where Kombat will host events. Cambodia is now where Kombat will build its future."
