KUN KHMER TO THE WORLD: CAMBODIA’S FIRST WORLD-CLASS KUN KHMER TRAINING CENTER OPENS AT AEON MALL

KUN KHMER TO THE WORLD: CAMBODIA’S FIRST WORLD-CLASS KUN KHMER TRAINING CENTER OPENS AT AEON MALL

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA — Kombat Global and the Kun Khmer Federation have jointly opened a first-of-its-kind Kun Khmer training facility inside AEON Mall Mean Chey in Phnom Penh.

The fully air-conditioned, 500-square-meter facility will operate as the Kun Khmer Federation High Performance Center and Kombat Academy. It is the first official Kombat Academy established by Kombat Global and will serve as the model for additional Kombat Academies planned throughout the world.

Designed to meet modern international training standards, the center provides a clean, safe and professional environment that prioritizes athlete performance, hygiene and accessibility. It is the first facility of its kind in Cambodia to bring elite Kun Khmer fighter development and family martial arts education together under one roof.

The center will serve two important purposes. The Kun Khmer Federation will use the facility as a dedicated high-performance training base for its top professional Kun Khmer fighters, helping elite athletes prepare for major national and international competitions. At the same time, the Kombat Academy will provide modern and accessible martial arts programs for children, teenagers, adults and families.

A primary goal of the Kun Khmer Federation is to make Kun Khmer accessible to the general public, especially children and families. By establishing the center inside Cambodia’s largest shopping mall, the Federation aims to introduce Kun Khmer to a wider audience and inspire future generations to learn, preserve and take pride in Cambodia’s national martial art, culture and heritage.

“Kun Khmer is more than a combat sport—it is an important part of Cambodia’s national identity, culture and heritage,” said Major General Khov Chhay, President of the Kun Khmer Federation. “This center will make Kun Khmer accessible to children, families and the general public while creating new opportunities to develop Cambodia’s next generation of champions.”

Alongside its high-performance fighter training, the academy will provide professional and recreational programs in Kun Khmer, Taekwondo, Jiu-Jitsu, and youth and family martial arts.

All Kombat fighters and members from Cambodia and around the world are officially invited and warmly welcomed to visit and train at the center. The facility will serve as a home for the global Kombat community, providing opportunities for athletes and members to train together, exchange knowledge and experience Cambodia’s martial arts culture firsthand.

“Kombat Global is here to support the Kun Khmer Federation and its vision for the future of Kun Khmer,” said Rick W. Shin, President of Kombat Global Corporation. “Through our international network, professional competition platforms and experience in athlete development, education and global promotion, we can help create greater opportunities for Cambodian fighters and introduce Kun Khmer to new audiences worldwide. Our commitment is to work alongside the Federation, respect and preserve the heritage of Kun Khmer, and help take Cambodia’s national martial art to the world.”

Located on the first floor of AEON Mall Mean Chey—Cambodia’s largest shopping mall—the center is conveniently situated next to MINISO.

The facility held its soft opening on August 15, 2026. Regular classes will begin on September 28, followed by the official Grand Opening on October 3, 2026.

Kombat Global will operate and manage the facility while working in partnership with the Kun Khmer Federation. This collaboration represents a major step forward in developing Cambodia’s professional fighters, expanding public access to world-class martial arts instruction and promoting Kun Khmer nationally and internationally.

The opening also marks the beginning of Kombat Global’s international academy expansion. Based on the model established in Phnom Penh, Kombat Global plans to open additional Kombat Academies in strategic locations around the world, creating a unified global network for athlete development, martial arts education and international exchange.

The Kun Khmer Federation High Performance Center and Kombat Academy is positioned to become Cambodia’s premier destination for elite fighter development, family martial arts education and the global promotion of Kun Khmer.

The official Grand Opening will be held on October 3, 2026. The public, Kombat members and media representatives are invited to attend. Additional event details will be announced soon.
